All day today, the national media has been reporting on the condition of Sean Taylor, who is the starting free safety for my beloved Washington Redskins. He is arguably the best player on the team and was in the Pro Bowl after last season.
While sleeping in his Miami home early this morning, intruder(s) entered his home. Sean heard a noise and got up to investigate. Details are very sketchy still. But apparently he was shot once in the groin. The bullet severed an artery and he lost a tremendous amount of blood before he was airlifted to an area hospital.
While is surgery, his heart stopped twice. Doctors were worried that the blood loss might have effected his brain and that there could be permanent damage. Reports were very grim until the last few hours when it was reported he was responsive for the first time and responded to stimuli. At least there is some hope now that he might live through this.
Football is not on the mind of any Redskins player, coach or fan right now as well all hope and pray for Sean to just pull through and survive.
