The Moment That Changed the Republican Primary

For some reason the media has already awarded Mitt Romney as being the presumptive nominee to face President Obama. Not so fast. Enter Newt Gingrich.

Newt has lots of negatives and positives. I like the guy for several reasons. He tells it like it is and doesn't sugar coat anything. He is the smartest man on stage, he has ideas, he thinks out of the box, and he worked with Democrats when he was in Congress. If you can get past his prior transgressions, there are many things to like about him.

The Republicans have an interesting dilemma. Do you go with Romney who doesn't excite the base or Gingrich who might not excite moderates?

Iowa is so conservative and New Hampshire so liberal, that the primary and caucus in those states are not true measures of how Republicans feel about these two men. South Carolina is more of a true measuring stick. At some point Santorum will have to leave this race and his supports are more likely to go with Newt than Mitt.

I think this whole primary just got very interesting and is going to turn into an intense, two man show which is going to be quite fascinating to watch.
